Creating Your First Card
Design and publish your loyalty card with custom branding, colors, and loyalty rules.
Starting the Card Creation Process
From the home screen of the Niqati merchant app, tap the "+" button or "Create Card" to begin building your loyalty program.
Have your business logo ready (PNG format, square aspect ratio recommended). This will make the card creation process faster and ensure professional results.
Step 1: Basic Information
The first step is to provide the basic information that will appear on your loyalty card.
Card Name
This is the name customers will see on their card. Choose something memorable and relevant to your business.
- Good examples: "Coffee Club", "Rewards Card", "Loyalty Pass"
- Avoid: Generic names like "Card" or "Loyalty"
Description
A brief description of your loyalty program. This appears on the card and helps customers understand what it's for.
Store Display Name
How your business name appears on the card. This can be different from your registered business name — use what customers know you as.
Backfields
Add up to 10 custom fields to the back of the card. These can include:
- Website URL
- Social media links (Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
- Location and address
- Menu or services link
- Phone number
- Special offers
Learn more about backfields in Card Backfields.
Step 2: Card Design
Customize the visual appearance of your card to match your brand identity.
Colors
Choose from preset color themes or customize your own:
- Primary color: The main background color of the card
- Secondary color: Accent color for highlights and details
- Text color: Automatically adjusted for readability
Use your brand colors for consistency. Ensure high contrast between background and text for accessibility. The app will preview your card in both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet formats.
Logo
Upload your business logo:
- Format: PNG (recommended) or JPG
- Size: Square aspect ratio (1:1)
- Resolution: High resolution (at least 512x512 pixels)
- Background: Transparent PNG works best
Banner
Select a banner image from the catalog or upload your own. The banner appears at the top of the card and adds visual interest.
Preview
As you make changes, the preview updates in real-time. You can switch between Apple Wallet and Google Wallet previews to see how your card will look on both platforms.
Step 3: Points Rules
Choose how customers earn points. This is the core of your loyalty program.
Points per SAR
Customers earn points based on their spending. Ideal for retail, cafés, and businesses where purchase amounts vary.
- Set your ratio (e.g., 1 point per 1 SAR, or 10 points per 1 SAR)
- Higher ratios make rewards feel more valuable
- Consider your profit margins when setting the ratio
Points per Visit
Every visit earns the same points. Perfect for quick-service businesses like salons and car washes.
- Simple for customers to understand
- Encourages frequent visits regardless of spend amount
- Set points per visit (e.g., 10 points per visit)
Buy 5 Get 1 Free
The classic punch card model. After 5 purchases, the 6th is free.
- Each purchase adds a stamp
- After 5 stamps, the 6th is automatically marked as free
- Customize banner images for each stamp position
Learn more about this mode in Buy 5 Get 1 Free Mode.
Manual Addition
Full control over point allocation. Add points manually for any reason.
- Best for personalized loyalty experiences
- Use for special occasions or customer service gestures
- Requires manual entry for each transaction
Step 4: Rewards
Define what customers can redeem with their points.
Creating Rewards
- Tap "Add Reward"
- Enter reward name (e.g., "Free Coffee", "20% Off")
- Set points required to redeem
- Tap "Save"
Reward Examples
| Reward | Points Required | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Free coffee | 100 points | Cafés |
| 10% discount | 50 points | Retail |
| Free service | 200 points | Salons |
| Free item | 150 points | Restaurants |
Quick Add Buttons
Customize the point addition buttons that appear during checkout. Set common values for faster operation.
- Example: If most purchases are 50 SAR, create a "50 points" button
- Tip: Add 3-5 buttons covering your most common transaction amounts
Step 5: Publish
After completing all steps, review your card and tap "Create Card" to publish.
Once published, your card is live and can be shared with customers. Double-check all information, especially the loyalty rules and rewards, as these cannot be easily changed after publishing.
After Publishing
Your card is now live and ready to share:
- Access your QR code from the card detail screen
- Share the link via WhatsApp, Instagram, or your website
- Print the QR code for in-store display
- Start adding customers immediately
Editing Your Card
After publishing, you can still make certain changes:
- Can edit: Colors, logo, banner, backfields, rewards
- Cannot edit: Points rules (requires card deletion and recreation)
To edit, go to your card detail screen and tap "Edit Card".
